The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice has approximately 35 full-time faculty, over 30 part-time faculty, and over 1,200 majors. The department offers Bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice, an accelerated Bachelor's/Master's degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master's degree in Criminal Justice. Additionally, we contribute to the interdisciplinary Cyber BS and MS degrees. The department also offers minors in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Gerontology, and Medical Sociology.

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,500 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences prepares the next generation of leaders in a wide array of fields to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century and become contributing citizens in a global society. Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Criminal Justice in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice that begins August 2024.

A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.

• Teaching undergraduate courses in the Criminal Justice core is expected including Introduction to Criminal Justice, Policing, Courts, and Corrections, as well as other program courses (click the following for a list of all CRJU courses based on the KSU catalog.)
• The standard teaching load for a lecturer is 5/4 per academic year.
• Courses may be taught on the Kennesaw or Marietta campus and are offered during daytime and evening hours.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Criminal Justice or a closely related discipline is required.

OR

• A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with no fewer than 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.

AND

• The degree must be earned by the August 2024 contract start date.
• Experience teaching at the collegiate level.

• Experience teaching in a variety of modalities including Face-to-Face, Hybrid and Online.
