Job Title: Director, Aerospace Education
Director of Aerospace Education. The Director of Aerospace Education is responsible for leading and overseeing the aerospace education programs for both internal and external audiences in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). Directs the planning, development, implementation, and management of the Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education (AE) Program. Serves as CAP NHQ’s primary focal point for education, policy, and program management issues relating to the Aerospace Education Program. Leads design and implementation plans for all curricula associated with aerospace programs and activities. Interprets policy issues and solves time-critical concerns submitted by members in the field. Manages the development and/or revision of programs, curriculum, regulations, pamphlets and forms for use throughout CAP and at all national events and activities. Provides management and guidance in all elements of the aerospace program.
The candidate will possess:
- MS/MA in Education required, or equivalent experience in curriculum development; Doctorate in Education preferred.
- Must have experience in instructional systems development.
- Must have prior experience with educational philosophies and practices for adult and youth education.
- STEM certification is preferred.
- Must have proven experience in leadership positions as part of a staff or in other work environments as determined.
- Excellent customer service skills and strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for working directly with directorate personnel, CAP members, parents, and military personnel.
