ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. As the Human Resources Director in this role, yo will strategically develop, implement, and continuously improve the HR support function to work as a collaborative partner with all employees, managers, and Seattle Parks & Recreation (SPR) staff. This leadership role represents the organization, playing a key role in advancing ARC’s mission, vision, and values with a commitment to race and social justice. This position supervises two management positions and their individual departments.

This position demands a solid understanding of social justice, prompting a careful examination of how external systems impact our endeavors, particularly in the context of racism and intersectionality. Proficiency in the fundamental principles of anti-racism work, the capability to seamlessly incorporate these principles into daily responsibilities, adeptness in diverse settings, and a commitment to advocating for anti-racism policies are pivotal skills and values for this role. Human Resources Director duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop compensation, employee relations, engagement, performance evaluation, retention, and overall HR strategies for the organization.
  • Supervise the staff of the Human Resources Department. The role directly supervises two managers in employee relations and talent acquisition.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team in strategic conversations.

Human Resources Director requirements include:

  • BS/BA degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related discipline, or equivalent work experience (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or Master’s Degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible HR business partnership experience with 5 years in a leadership role
  • Minimum of 5-years’ experience leading an HR team
  • Non-profit company experience preferred but not required

Pay:

  • Full Salary Range: $96,000-128,000 (Over time, the employee in this role may earn up to $128,000 per year with additional years of service.)
  • Starting Salary Range: $96,000-105,000 (Depending on experience)
