Position Overview
Starting Salary Range is $96,727 - $113,658. The initial salary offer is commensurate with education and related work experience.
The Executive Director of Campus Engagement and Belonging (EDCEB) reports to the Associate Vice President of Student Success and Belonging and provides leadership and supervision to the college’s student success and belonging initiatives including the Student Engagement Department, First-Year Experience, Puente Program, TRiO Student Support Services, and campus-wide heritage recognitions. The EDCEB serves as a member of the Provost’s Leadership Team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Belonging:
- Provides strategic leadership to advance the College’s student success and belonging initiatives including the development of measurable performance objectives to meet goals in Vision 2028.
- Provides training for faculty and staff to increase student success and belonging. Works with Human Resources and Recruiting to develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain faculty, students, and staff from underrepresented populations. Monitors gaps in student success as one measure of progress toward delivering the Ideal Student Experience to all students.
- Leads the response to reports of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation that are not based on sex or disability in accordance with Board Policy FFDB.
- Serves as the advisor to the Black Educational Access & Completion Committee and the Hispanic Education Access and Completion Committee.
- Leads the committees that arrange programming for historic and heritage recognitions such as Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Transgender Awareness Week, etc.
Student Engagement, First-Year Experience, TRiO Student Support Services, and Puente Program:
- Provides leadership and supervision to the Student Engagement Department, First-Year Experience, TRiO Student Support Services Program and Puente Project.
- Serves as the liaison to the national Puente Program.
- Serves as Chair of the First-Year Experience Council.
Partnerships: Develops and maintain strategic partnerships with on- and off-campus stakeholders that support a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and integrated approach to campus engagement and belonging.
Assessment: Engages in comprehensive assessment, evaluation, and program improvement by regularly tracking, communicating, and reporting relevant data; integrates feedback into program operations; and develops and reviews key performance indicators to enhance campus engagement and belonging.
External Partnerships: Develops, fosters, and promotes new opportunities for educational partnerships with public and private sector entities.
College Representative: Represents the College to various external entities and with outside agencies in matters relating to the College's student basic needs programs.
Budget Development: Participates in and supervises the preparation and recommendation of detailed budgets, with cost estimates, for areas being supervised. Establishes and maintains budgetary control of areas being supervised.
Maintain Confidentiality: Maintains confidentiality of information regarding students, supervisors, and other employees.
Personal Professional Development: Maintains current knowledge of trends and emerging research regarding retention, student success programs, discrimination law, and belonging initiatives.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Master’s (or higher) degree from an accredited institution.
- At least five (5) years administrative experience working in higher education.
- Proficient in PeopleSoft, Banner, and/or other student management software
- Experience gathering, evaluating, and disseminating student outcome data.
- Demonstrated ability to lead an area with direct and indirect reports; develop high-performing teams that perform efficiently and effectively; hold team members accountable for their performance; and support the professional growth of all team members.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems using quantitative and qualitative data; prepare clear and concise reports for the senior leadership that explain the situation and provide recommendations; and give oral presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a variety of people during stressful and difficult situations.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and apply problem-solving skills and work effectively under time constraints.
- Knowledge of strategic planning and the ability to translate college priorities into programs and projects and maximize the benefits of external funding.
- Knowledge of and the ability to promote the mission of community college in general and Lee College in particular to a variety of audiences.
