Financial Wellness Coordinator

Position Overview
Starting Salary Range is $50,648 -$58,241. The initial salary offer is commensurate with education and related work experience.
The Financial Wellness Coordinator will manage all aspects of the production, coordination, and execution of services and programs related to financial literacy at Lee College. This includes but is not limited to, curriculum development, individual coaching sessions with students, workshops and training sessions, and participation in campus outreach events.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops and implements strategies to support and foster financial literacy in Lee College students through campus programs, course curriculum, individual coaching, and training workshops.
- Provides curriculum and resources for faculty to encourage the inclusion of financial literacy strategies into instructional delivery methods.
- Provides financial advising to students in-person, via phone and email, on topics such as paying for college, searching and applying for scholarships, student loans, managing cash flow, savings, credit reports and scores, car ownership, and identity theft.
- Provides ongoing coaching to Emergency Aid Funding recipients and students on probationary status from an approved financial aid appeal.
- Coordinates Lee College Debt Forgiveness Program.
- Develops partnerships with campus staff and the student finance team to promote financial literacy initiatives/programs and provide training workshops.
- Works collaboratively with Marketing and Public Affairs to develop marketing materials and coordinate outreach events to engage students in financial literacy programming.
- Coordinates and hosts annual financial literacy camp targeting first-time college students.
- Stays current on best practices in financial literacy programming in higher education and recommends increasing Lee College’s impact on student financial wellness.
- Refers students to college and community resources that support student persistence and goal attainment at Lee College.
- Collaborates with Recruitment and Outreach by conducting Financial Literacy presentations to potential students and parents in the Lee College Service Area.
- Collaborates and maintains successful working partnerships with departments, staff, and faculty involved in students' financial well-being.
- Collects and tracks data, and compiles reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Works evenings and weekends as required.
- Ensures compliance with Title V Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions Program grant guidelines.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists with additional aspects of Title V Pathways Grant as necessary.
- Participates in professional activities and training as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Education, Social Sciences or related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year related work in higher education or financial management coaching.
- Knowledge of personal finance topics relevant to community college students.
- Understand student development theory, college success programs, and first year experiences.
- Skill in interpreting and effectively communicating rules and regulations to different audiences in one-on-one sessions and group presentations.
- Must be proficient in composition, spelling, and proofreading.
- Must be courteous and demonstrate exceptional customer service abilities.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends.
- Must be dependable and demonstrate initiative.
- Exceptional computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and superb oral and written communication, planning, and organization skills.
- Solid organizational, time management and filing skills.
- Detail oriented, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, plus meet deadlines.
- Flexible, organized, and creative with the ability to switch gears and move from one task to another with frequent interruptions from a busy phone and constant office visitors.
- Creativity to produce publications and PowerPoint presentations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and work-related information.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in analyzing and resolving confidential and sensitive situations with minimal supervision.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Education, Leadership, Social Sciences or related field.
- Experience working with personal finance topics in the community college setting.
- Experience working in first year success initiatives in higher education.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, speak, and write)
