SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the President and CEO, the external services Associate Program Director’s job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: the planning, organization, implementation, and coordination of activities of the TCFB external services program. As a member of the senior leadership team the Associate Executive Director is a key liaison between Programs, Operations and Development. Direct reports include Satellites, School Gardens, For Kids, Agriculture, and Commerce grant. As the supervisor of our external services, the right candidate will be a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process-minded conservation leader with experience developing a culture of learning and continuous improvement among a group of diverse, talented individuals. This new position interacts with all external departments, leading all program-focused activities, and provides vision and strategy around future organizational needs, while strengthening staff capacity and organizational culture.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Training Development and Leadership:
- Recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, providing ongoing feedback, and support.
- As an Executive Leadership member, participate in meetings and strategic organizational planning.
- Staff Supervision and Coaching:
- Conduct regular team meetings with external programs to ensure team cohesiveness and consistent messaging.
- Systems and Tracking Oversight:
- Improve program reporting systems and tracking tools.
- External Relationship Building:
- Foster strategic relationships and represent the organization to external stakeholders, influencing positive supporting fundraising efforts by capturing and sharing the stories of our work.
- Maintain relationships with funders, comply with contractual requirements, and ensure meeting the contractual outcomes.
- Supporting the Mission:
- Participate in miscellaneous projects as needed, depending on capacity and expertise.
- Other duties as assigned including special projects
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role, including at least 2 years of staff or intern supervision.
- Has a personal drive to creating an inclusive environment and fostering a culture that values diversity.
- A minimum of three years’ work experience in non-profit agency program provision, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- High leadership level analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding and experience with organizational strategic plan and implementation
- A focus on guiding success both in terms of quantitative metrics, adaptable processes and positive
- Excel at keeping a team organized and aligned
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate diplomatically in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Washington State drivers license (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
- Experience with public speaking, training and/or teaching adults/volunteers.
- Considerable knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures of the Thurston County Food Bank; of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
COMPUTER/TECHNOLOGY SKILLS/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE SKILLS:
- Demonstrates ability to use in Google Workspace tools, Microsoft Office, and remote communication tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Nature of work requires an ability to effectively communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents operating standard business office equipment and software. Occasional travel by automobile is required for position responsibilities and/or training. Manual dexterity and physical ability to perform tasks (i.e. repeated living up to 50 pounds, continual standing, reaching, bending, and walking).

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Full-time: 40 hours per
- Salary: $81,120 – $88,649/annual starting wage (d.o.e.), $81,120 - $112,299 annual full salary range (svc yr based)
