JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Chief Administrator, the Deputy Administrator will play a pivotal role in the organization by providing vital support to the Chief Administrator, ensuring smooth daily operations, and overseeing key aspects of Kilohana’s strategic initiatives. In addition, the Deputy Administrator will work collaboratively with all levels of management and staff and serve as back-up to the Chief Administrator in their absence.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBIITIES, and EXPECTATIONS:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise the Quality Assurance Program Manager, who is responsible for Island Region Managers and their moku-based programming.
- Oversee the Destination Stewardship Director in managing Visitor Education and Post-Arrival Marketing/Communication subcontractors. Providing necessary support in tandem with the Chief Administrator.
- Coordinate the work of different initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with budget preparation and management, review financial reports, and contribute to fiscal decisions to ensure sustainability and growth of Kilohana
- Cultivate relationships with partners, stakeholders, and other relevant parties, strengthening Kilohana’s image and fostering growth.
- Review and improve the organization's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and facilitating continuous improvement within the organization.
- Facilitate and coordinate organizational meetings, supporting strategic planning and implementation, and assisting with special projects that drive the mission of the organization.
- Represent the organization at meetings, presentations, and networking events.
- Assist in the development and implementation of on-island technical assistance, in collaboration with the Island Region Managers and the Destination Stewardship Director.
- Ensure clear communication and effective relationships between all team members, including the Destination Stewardship Director, the Grants Manager, and Island Region Managers.
- Provide strategic input to the Chief Administrator on the management and direction of HTA Programs.
- Participates and performs duties as assigned for CNHA’s annual Native Hawaiian Convention.
- Other additional and/or duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in non-profit management, public or business administration or related field preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient.
- Prior experience in a leadership role, as well as familiarity with the specific programs mentioned, is highly desired.
- Experience with budgeting and financial management.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to Native Hawaiian issues is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
