The person in this position works closely with the Human Resources Director to shepherd and execute the recruiting and hiring process and the staff member experience strategy. What you’ll be doing
Recruiting, Hiring & Onboarding

Partner with Human Resources Director and hiring managers to fully understand requirements and ensure a full candidate experience for each open position

Serve as the primary point of contact for the recruiting & hiring process and provide critical support to candidates, hiring managers, and internal HR team and other stakeholders to provide a best-in-class experience

Own the first step in the recruitment process; screening candidate resumes against minimum qualifications, scheduling interviews and sending candidate communication when necessary

Own the position description management process in the HRIS system, posting jobs, updating the careers page and managing the applicant tracking system

Coordinate the timely execution and completion of a seamless workflow for each job posting and recruiting process

Establishes and maintains relationships with candidates throughout the hiring process and keeps them informed about their place in the process, next steps, timing, etc.

Welcome newly hired staff members and execute the orientation plan throughout the onboarding journey:

Coordinate and communicate the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring a great experience for new staff members and a smooth start into their roles

Clearly craft and send pre-hire communication including, onboarding agenda, compliance and document needs and other details as needed

Prepare and distribute onboarding welcome gifts

Identifies innovative and creative new ways to onboard new staff members/reach a more impactful and enjoyable onboarding experience
Staff Support

Own and update internal staff content for the Staff Page intranet site

Work with ministry department leadership to develop content for the Staff Page

Support staff member experience, culture and improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Human Resources Director

Assist in scheduling and logistics for meetings, training sessions and other staff events
-
Assist in ordering items needed for staff events, HR initiatives or other staff needs
-
Assist in contacting and scheduling new and potential front desk volunteers
Human Resources Support

Provide administrative assistance to the Human Resources Director
-
Act as a subject matter expert for processes specific to this position and make recommendations on how to improve process experience and efficiency

Ensure compliance with all processes and maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times
Compliance & Training Support
-
Assist in formatting and finalizing workplace policy documents and updating them on the Staff Page once approved.

Assist in monthly reporting to ensure staff have:

Current background checks
-
Current Sexual Abuse Awareness Training certificates
-
-
Assist in maintaining and tracking training initiatives, training session completions, etc.
-
Assist in and planning, scheduling and communicating needed training for staff members.
General Administrative Support
-
Assist director with receipts and budget monitoring
-
Perform general office duties such as copying, filing, mailing, etc.

Answer / return phone calls and emails as requested
-
Purchase items for ministry as needed
-
Organize workflow and synchronize between Google Docs and Rock
-
Attend weekly admin meetings and communicate if there is anything coming that’s not on the radar

Respond to all general ministry questions, both internally and externally, via phone and email
-
Run errands as needed
-
Other related duties as needed
What you’ll bring to the team
-
Minimum Education: High School Diploma
-
Minimum Experience: Two years in professional human resources, payroll, benefits or transferrable role
-
Demonstrates strong technology experience (Gmail, Google Docs, Word, Excel, Rock, etc.)
-
Preferred Experience: Four years in a similar position in an equivalent church setting or non-profit organization
-
Must pass a pre-employment background check
-
Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
