Assistant Professor of Accounting
Job Description
The Plaster School of Business (PSB) at Missouri Southern State University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting, with an expected start date of January 1, 2025, or August 1, 2025.
Duties:
- Teach undergraduate accounting courses in financial accounting, audit, governmental and nonprofit accounting, and possibly other areas as identified by the department. There may be an opportunity to teach graduate courses.
- Leverage a variety of emerging technologies.
- Deliver courses through traditional, on-line, and alternative instructional methods.
- Maintain an active research agenda that results in presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
- Exhibit enthusiasm for engaging with and mentoring students.
- Participate in service to the department, college, and broader university community, including engagement with the business and professional community.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates will possess an earned doctorate with a concentration in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited school by the first day of appointment. ABD candidates may be considered for a visiting position.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and/or knowledge of diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Related business experience
The PSB is accredited by ACBSP and is actively pursuing AACSB accreditation with 19 full-time faculty. Undergraduate programs include Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, HR Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. The PSB currently offers an MBA and M.S. in Data Analytics.
