POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Programs is responsible for the overall development, management, and direction of the
Eastside Education Initiative (EEI) and Elevate [Math] (EM) programs, in addition to overseeing the operations
of SVEF STEM programs that include Computer Science (CS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Duties include
day-to-day operations, management of staff, program design, implementation, milestone creation/tracking,
curriculum management and school district communications of program evaluation, co-developing and
monitoring of the budget, participating in obtaining funds/grants, and coordinating/integrating programs with
other SVEF initiatives. The Director of Programs reports to the Chief Programs Officer (CPO) and works closely
with other SVEF Directors to lead and champion SVEF’s mission and services.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Leadership
Work collaboratively with the CPO to:
Develop a comprehensive, long-term vision and strategy for EM and EEI, integrating both programs to leverage shared goals and objectives.
Design engaging and transformative EM and EEI learning experiences, including curriculum and teachers’ professional learning, for multiple grade levels and instructors alike.
Co-Design and implement AI related learning experiences in EM and EEI including curriculum and teachers’ professional learning, for multiple grade levels and educators.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program impact and outcomes, providing regular progress updates to stakeholders, including school districts, partners, and the community, to ensure transparency and accountability.
Identify innovative methods to continue to develop, add services and scale programs in participating districts and replicate them with new districts, promoting expansion and growth.
Lead strategy discussions, implementation, and organizational/infrastructure planning for Elevate Math and EEI, ensuring seamless integration and alignment.
Develop multi-year program milestones and objectives as well as day-to-day workflows and plans to achieve goals.
Lead cross-functional teams, including staff, partners, and stakeholders through collective impact practices to drive results.
Provide leadership in the implementation of strategic initiatives to continually refine and improve SVEF education programs (EM and EEI) while meeting measurable goals and objectives.
Present and attend regional education events, SVEF special events, and conferences on behalf of SVEF.
Operations Management
Collaborate and co-develop curriculum to integrate AI-infused learning and engagement experiences across EM and EEI curriculum for diverse grade levels, providing teachers with professional learning opportunities to ensure successful implementation.
Establish processes for program management – program development, preparation, execution and evaluation/reporting.
Lead day-to-day operations and implementation toward identified goals and yearly milestones.
Build and oversee recruitment, development and management of the Program team.
Analyze data to inform program decisions, measure program impact, and drive continuous improvement.
Lead and coordinate teacher professional learning opportunities of EM & EEI programs curriculum on an ongoing basis.
Work collaboratively with District Partnerships staff to build relationships with participating school districts at multiple levels.
Work collaboratively with District Partnerships staff to negotiate the MOUs with the districts, including all financial and other commitments.
Ensure the consistent use of the SVEF customer relationship management system, G-Suite and other tools to ensure responsive year-round communication to key school district stakeholders, teachers, parents, and students regarding program start dates, end dates, registration, academic assessments, survey and SVEF aligned activities.
Establish relationships with other partners for building and sustaining programs.
People Management
Supervise, manage, and evaluate program managers and staff as indicated in the organizational chart.
Create a positive and productive work environment, foster collaboration, innovation and leadership.
Manage the support and engagement of staff development programs to enhance skills and abilities of
direct reports to provide for professional growth.
Financial Management
Work collaboratively with the CPO to develop and monitor the annual Programs budget and execute according to the plan.
Fundraising
Work collaboratively with District Partnership staff to develop and co-lead the fundraising for District
revenue for initiatives.
Actively participate in SVEF’s efforts to develop and implement activities to identify, solicit, involve and retain donors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree in STEM field and at least 5 years of management.
Leadership experience in the education or non-profit sector.
Understanding of K-12 mathematics, higher education and career readiness and preferred in-depth knowledge of the Math Standards, math coursework and curriculum.
Experience in dual enrollment and community college partnerships is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to the mission and core values of SVEF.
Culturally responsive interpersonal communication skills for organizational effectiveness.
Demonstrated strategic and operational planning and execution skills.
Ability to lead, influence and motivate teams and individuals (staff, volunteers, Advisory Boards, community, etc).
Ability to manage business relationships, alliances and collaborate with a variety of individuals
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated written and verbal skills to influence, negotiate, coach, inspire and motivate individuals and teams.
Demonstrated experience in operations, program management and people development.
Experience in building and managing large staffs including recruitment, hiring, training, and managing the work of paid staff and volunteers.
Demonstrated success in building scalable, replicable programs: program processes that are systematized, documented and effectively evaluated with an effective assessment program.
Ability to thrive in a multitasking environment.
Working knowledge of Salesforce, Google Suite and Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Salary ranges from $100-$125K.
