Position Summary
The Human Resources Specialist/Manager-Compensation and Benefits provides operational management for the compensation and benefit plans and programs for employees and retirees of Shore Medical Center. The final position title, responsibilities, and reporting structure within the organization are subject to modification based upon the successful candidate’s qualifications.
Core Duties
- Responsible for the proper administration of all benefit and compensation programs including, but not limited to, Total Rewards, Retirement Plans, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Voluntary Insurance benefits.
- Evaluates and analyzes the results of the programs and services regularly reporting these results to Leadership
- Proactively advise leadership on benefit and compensation strategies that align with the Medical Center’s short- and long-term goals
- Oversee annual Open Enrollment process
- Ensure that benefit plan documentation such as plan documents, contracts and insurance policies are accurate, current and reflect the Hospital’s intent
- Maintain strong working knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local laws, ordinances, regulations and reporting requirements, including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and state statutes governing benefit plans. Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits
- Directs preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits programs such as insurance plans, pension plans, 401(k), life and special employer-sponsored plans
- Oversee the handling of benefit inquiries and issues to ensure that timely, equitable, courteous explanations and resolutions occur
- Oversees administration of employee retirement plans
- Conduct regular analysis of market trends to ensure our compensation and benefits packages remain competitive
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or business-related field
- 5 years Benefits Administration experience required.
- 5 years of Total Rewards/Compensation analysis preferred.
- Experience administering D.C. and D.B. plans
- Knowledge of government regulations over benefit plans including ACA and ERISA
- CEBS and SHRM certifications preferred
- Strong computer, written and oral communication, and organizational skills
