Job Description
The management department at Salem State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary faculty position in the field of hospitality for academic year 2025-26. This faculty member will teach classes in Food and Beverage Management and HR in Hospitality, and may be asked to teach undergraduate introduction to business class as well.
Depending on the student enrollment trends and the department needs in the future academic years, it is possible, but not guaranteed, to renew the temporary full time position in the future academic years, or even convert the position to a tenure-tracked one.

Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field
- Previous full- or part-time professional experience and/or teaching experience at the college level
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated industry/research experience
- Advising and/or mentoring experience
- Evidence of commitment to teaching in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
- Evidence of ability to communicate effectively, use technology and learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) when teaching, and work collaboratively with other members of the department
