Director of Accounting Program

Job Description

The Director of the Accounting Program will constitute a full-time faculty position with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Johnson University. The Director will carry a full faculty workload and fulfill the corresponding responsibilities as assigned by the Dean, School of Business and Leadership. The Director shall be responsible for all aspects of the academic program. The Director will be a key face of the accounting program.

Reports to: Dean, School of Business & Leadership
Base Pay: Commensurate with experience
Employee Status: Full-time

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a master’s or terminal degree in accounting from a regionally accredited university and a CPA license.
  • Proficient with the use of standard office and internet applications for personal computers.
  • Must be committed to the full support of Johnson University’s Mission & Core Values Statement, Faculty Community Covenant, and Statement of Faith.

  • Primary commitment to and passion for Johnson University’s vision, mission, and ethos.
  • Become proficient (with provided training) in the Sakai learning management platform.
  • Design interactive and teaching learning strategies that are diverse, experiential, participatory, and collaborative with the goal of accommodating various learning styles.
  • Experienced practitioner/scholar – abreast of developments within the accounting discipline and practical knowledge gained from organizational experience.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to using email, Sakai (a learning management system), and other emerging technologies and alternative instructional delivery methods.
  • Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally.
