Job Description Summary
Beaufort County Community College has an opening for a full time 9-month position
in the second year (senior level) division of the A.D.N program. The chosen candidate will have teaching responsibilities in clinical, lab and classroom settings. The chosen candidate will work with seasoned faculty to mentor students transitioning into the educator role. The candidate will assist with second year student success strategies that are aimed towards professionalism, retention, progression and entering the workforce.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements:Required: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution with agreement to enroll and complete an accredited MSN program within five years of hire.Work Experience:Required: A minimum of two years clinical nursing experience and a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
Required Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication. Proficiency with commonly used computer software. Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution.
Work Experience:
Preferred: Post-secondary teaching experience in a pre-licensure nursing program. Strong medical-surgical, intermediate, or community/public health nursing care experience.
Essential Duties
Clinical assignments generally include one to two days of clinical instruction. Theory is primarily delivered in the classroom environment, but may include virtual instruction, based on program needs.
If the chosen candidate has no prior teaching experience, they will receive preparation in teaching and learning principles; including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation as required by the NC Board of Nursing Education Rules. The individual will also participate in course and curriculum design, development of student learning outcomes, assessment and evaluations, serve on college committees, advise and register students, maintain office hours, and fulfill all the duties and responsibilities of BCCC faculty.
The chosen candidate will be peer mentored by experienced faculty members to ensure continuity of program outcomes and to aid in a smooth transition into the role of nurse educator.

$58,500 - $68,000 Based on the College’s salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
