In the Senior Director of Human Resources position, you will have the opportunity to use your leadership skills to develop and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department while ensuring legal compliance and implementation of JRI’s mission and hiring plan.
Justice Resource Institute (JRI) is a leader in social justice with over 100 diverse programs meeting the needs of underserved individuals and families throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. We are a nonprofit human services agency providing residential, group home, community-based, outpatient, and public health treatment settings for children, adolescents, adults and their families. Although our programs are quite diverse, the common thread is that we provide trauma-informed care.
The Senior Director of Human Resources we are seeking will have strong leadership skills, and a demonstrated strength in fostering partnerships and teamwork.
This position allows for a hybrid work model. The position will require in person attendance three days a week on average. Candidates must be willing to travel regularly to all JRI sites as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership for the Human Resource (HR) department of JRI, including direct supervision of the HR Director.
- Lead initiatives, systems, and best practices to develop, and train a diverse and high-performing workforce.
- Analyze HR systems and workforce outcomes using metrics and analytics. Knowledge of the HRIS system to generate reports to help inform high level decisions.
- Consistently review and analyze the current processes and procedures for the JRI HR department.
- Manage vendor relationships for health, dental, life, disability, and retirement benefits to remain competitive and highly valued by employees.
- Collaborate with the General Counsel to ensure compliance with employment and labor laws.
- Keep abreast with the latest trends and changes in HR strategies.
- Collaborate with operations and quality management to ensure that JRI is maintaining a safe working environment.
- Provide overall HR system review from a high level perspective.
- Lead the HR investigations systems. Oversee all HR investigations. Participate in investigations as necessary.
- Oversee all systems for employee relations.
- Drive the implementation of benefits and policies that make JRI a top place to work.

Requirements:
- A Master’s degree or HR certifications preferred.
- Supervisor experience as an HR leader for at least 5-10 years preferred.
- Acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and OIG background check.
- Driver’s license.
