Essential Job Duties
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at North Carolina State University (NC State) invites applications for Lecturer positions. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in sociology or criminology. Multiple hires may be made from this posting, with most positions being part-time and requiring in-person instruction.
Lecturers are responsible for coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities. Each Lecturer will develop their own course syllabi and teach the assigned classes independently.
Lecturers may be assigned to teach during daytime, evening, or weekend hours as needed.
Other Responsibilities
Additional duties may be assigned by the Department Head.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in sociology or related field.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
Other Required Qualifications
- Strong commitment to excellence in teaching
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD
- Teaching experience at the university level.
- Discipline in Sociology or Criminology.
