Full Job Description

Under general supervision, provides overall leadership and supervision for program staff and oversees coordination of services. Incumbents maintain confidentiality and ethical standards as identified by the NYS Education Department, NYS Medicaid, NASW or other relevant governing bodies. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff, adhering to established agency communication protocols. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operation for assigned programs clinical and residential staff; responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment.
    • Evaluates program effectiveness and recommends alternatives as required.
    • Assist in the development of program goals and objectives on an annual basis and monitor their implementation.
    • Ensures effective communications with Agency Staff and related community organizations to assure coordination of client services. Build and maintain effective linkages and relationships with informal and community agencies and individuals.
    • Completes administrative and supervisory tasks as necessary for the Programs.
    • Responsible for completing necessary grants and budgets, as well as researching new grant opportunities.
    • Able to navigate required databases to include CCFCS internal, local and state funder databases.
    • Responsible for complete, accurate and timely data collection and for generating reports as required.
    • Responsible for ensuring programs meet funder, local and state requirements and code mandates.
    • Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
  • Supervises the employees and volunteers to ensure high quality services and programs.
    • Participates in selection, hiring, and orientation of Staff.
    • Direct, coach, collaborate with and delegate tasks appropriately while providing supportive guidance and appropriate recognition.
    • Build and sustain cooperative working relationships among program staff; provides on-going feedback and addresses performance improvement opportunities effectively.
    • Assist in the initiation and implementation of staff development and training programs to maximize professional practice.
    • Accesses employees skills and program needs and appropriately assign staff to meet program needs.
    • Coordinates employee schedules to ensure day-to-day coverage of the Programs.
    • Reviews and approves timesheets.
    • Engages in performance reviews in a timely manner according to agency procedures.
    • Provides back up for Staff as required.
  • Provides clinical oversight and decision making within scope of practice; including but not limited to discharges and safety plans.
    • Oversees department clinical reviews ensuring they comply with all departmental and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide supervision for employees in identifying and implementing services for clients.
    • Assist in assessing, developing, implementing, and monitoring treatment and/or care plans that meet client and family needs. This may include but is not limited to providing information and referrals, advocacy, benefits counseling, individual and family counseling, and securing financial and medical resources.
    • Oversee referrals to both internal CCFCS programs and external agencies for appropriate services.
    • May carry a caseload of clients.
    • Completes all necessary paperwork related to client services in compliance with Agency and regulatory standards.
  • Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or training.
  • Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops.
  • Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Mental Health Counseling (MHC) required.

Credentials: QHP credentials are required LCSW or CASAC with LMHC, LMSW, or LMFT

Experience: Three to five years of experience in the human services field. Prior experience working with chemical dependency, substance use disorder, mental health services, or child welfare preferred. Minimum one year of supervisory experience preferred.
