Position Overview:

The Treatment Home Administrator is designated by the licensee as responsible for the daily operation of the residential site. The Treatment Home Administrator assures quality care for residents as well as monitoring the maintenance of the house. The Treatment Home Administrator performs personnel and administrative functions including tracking of training hours for staff, completing evaluations of residential counselors, tracking of census and vacancy reports, and preparing for state and county inspections.

Essential Job Functions:

Job Duties Include but Not Limited To:

  • Ensures Treatment Home operates in accordance with the administrative standards outlined in Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs), best practices for clients, and agency policies.
  • Oversees the daily operation of Treatment Home(s) and provides administrative supervision to residential staff.
  • Trains new staff and provides retraining as required.
  • Produces residential service plans & assessments for each resident upon intake and annually. Also, oversight of residential counselor daily shift notes and incident report documentation.
  • Admits new clients, ensuring appropriate welcome and orientation to the program.
  • Oversees property and program equipment, contacting agency maintenance crew as needed for maintenance and improvement.
  • Oversees staff scheduling and assures appropriate staff coverage is in place.
  • Responsible for menu planning and food purchasing. Ensures adequate supplies of staple foods for a minimum of one week and perishable foods for a minimum of two days will be maintained on the premises.
  • Assures medication program follows applicable OARS and physician orders. Provide medication administration and auditing of medication-related documents.
  • Implements clinical interventions as defined by Program Supervisor and QMHP therapist.
  • Maintains program, personnel and resident client records in accordance with OARs.
  • Reports regularly to Program Director on the operation of the Treatment Home(s).
  • Participates in weekly Residential Leadership Team meetings.
  • Monitors quality management compliance and performs day to day quality management tasks such as but not limited to client chart audits.
  • Coordinates partner organization relationships within specific program to enhance client care.
  • Provides direct service to clients when needed.
  • Provides crisis consultation for program, including a rotating on-call component for after hours and weekend support.
  • Provides training to community partners, agency staff, and others regarding program scope and services provided.
  • Represent Sequoia MHS at informational, clinical, and management meetings with county and other outside partners.
  • Continually increases level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and competency,
  • Communicate daily with team and with outside agencies using email, outlook, and agency cell phone provided.
  • Transports clients in Sequoia MHS vehicle as needed.
  • Meets standards for implementation and utilization of the recovery model services for the program.
  • Meets standards for budgetary targets managing costs effectively.
  • Provides support and attention to employee successes and addresses performance issues promptly and effectively.

Essential Job Experience & Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with SPMI (severe and persistent mental illness) population, preferably in a residential setting
  • Minimum 6 months experience supervising employees.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, understand mental health assessment, treatment and service terminology and apply each of these concepts, implement skills development strategies, and identify, implement and coordinate the services and supports identified in a service plan.
  • Requires ability to be available for crisis calls 24/7 for one week at a time. While serving as the on-call administrator, must have ability to respond immediately to crisis calls by phone and/or in person as needed. This may include covering a shift in the evening or weekends.
  • Good computer skills including a functional knowledge of Outlook, and Word. Ability to master use of proprietary software including electronic health record system.
  • Maintain current Oregon Driver’s License and vehicle insurance as required by state law.
  • Ability to pass a criminal history check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment;
  • Walk, bend, kneel, and reach;
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lb.;
  • Stand and/or sit for long periods of time;
  • Talk, hear, and communicate with clients;
  • See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents.
