Job Description
The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Kent State University, Kent Campus, invites applications for adjunct faculty who can teach in-person on the Kent Campus one or more of the courses listed below beginning with the Spring/Fall 2025 semester. Note the minimum requirements are master’s degree in marketing or a related field, as appropriate to the teaching area or an MBA with sufficient marketing-related work experience.

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING 3 Credit Hours Junior-level
Explore the various opportunities and risks that social media marketing holds for firms. During the course students will learn about topics such as social media's effect on marketing, creating and managing brand presences on social media, creating and marketing a branded viral video, identifying online influencers.
PROFESSIONAL SELLING 3 Credit Hours Senior-level
Introduces students to effective communication, successful selling and persuasion techniques, building customer relationships, ethics, the buying and selling process, and developing professional sales calls.
MARKETING RESEARCH 3 Credit Hours Junior-level
Learn how to formulate research questions, design a study to identify customer needs, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors utilizing existing and new marketing data and analyze the data and communicate the results.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Adjunct faculty are expected to:
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
- Prepare and deliver learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
- Evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
- Maintain and submit student grades in a timely fashion and other required documentation by specified deadlines.
- Be available to students for office hours.
- Be sensitive to the needs of a diverse population.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Marketing or a related field, as appropriate to the teaching area, with at least five years of recent relevant work experience. An MBA with sufficient marketing-related work experience may be acceptable. Professional certifications in the teaching area (e.g. sales) may be required.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
