Job Description Summary
Full-Time 11-month Staff Position. The Student Success Coach will be responsible for assisting students with the development and evaluation of an educational plan. This coach will focus their efforts on helping students identify and use college resources that will support degree completion and further aid students in accomplishing their academic goals. The success coach will oversee case management through an early alert system. This position is offered pending state funding.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master’s Degree in education, counseling, or relevant to the responsibilities of the position. The degree must be from a regionally accredited institution.
- 3 years of experience working with diverse students including first-generation college students, underrepresented students, and transitioning students.
- Experience in a student support role
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Experience delivering academic advising or counseling at the college level
- Experience working with at-risk and/or minority populations
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with teams
- Excellent technology/computer skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior post-secondary teaching, counseling, or advising experience is preferred.
Essential Duties
- Providing and maintaining a professional, open, and welcoming environment.
- Fostering a student-centered and friendly atmosphere.
- Providing instructional and faculty development assistance to students and faculty.
- Promoting the Center’s services to students and faculty across campus.
- Working as a team member to enhance academic support services and faculty development.
- Identifying and addressing barriers to student success and satisfaction on an individual basis.
- Monitoring student academic progress and providing information about college academic and personal resources as necessary.
- Building and maintaining face-to-face and online support services.
- Coordinating with Deans and Lead Instructors to create support services that follow best practices.
- Providing academic advising, resources, and career exploration services for a variety of students and their individual educational circumstances.
- Providing case management using an early alert system to track student progress, communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
- Responding to early alerts from faculty with outreach to students struggling in class, offering assistance, and making referrals to college resources in an effort to promote student retention.
- Conducting visits to College Student Success (ACA 111 & 122) classrooms to discuss student success resources.
- Teaching one section of College Student Success (ACA 111 or 122) per semester.
- Providing soft skill resources and information to students.
- Collecting data and participating in the assessment of services as requested by the Centralized Advising Center Director.
- Administering and interpreting career interest/ability instruments, test scores, and other information to determine appropriate course placement.
- Other duties as assigned by Centralized Advising Center Director.

Salary
$45,500 - $58,000 Based on the College’s salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
