Department OverviewThe California Strategic Project Team at Motorola Solutions is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to our clients. We're looking for individuals who are intellectually curious, proactive, and passionate about making a difference.Job DescriptionAt Motorola Solutions you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of public safety and command center software development. As an Intern, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Senior Solutions Architect (Engineer) and gaining hands-on experience in software development, configuration, and technical implementation. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside industry experts and contribute to innovative solutions that impact communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in bridging the communication gap between deployment teams, customer subject matter experts, and IT teams to ensure alignment of technical requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders on delivering interfaces, software modules, and configurations effectively.
Support in planning, prioritizing, and coordinating activities to meet project deadlines.
Participate in Interface Acceptance Testing and contribute to analysis result presentations.
Contribute to the development of comprehensive solutions architecture designs, considering system scalability, performance, and security.
Provide support and input to development engineering teams, ensuring adherence to architecture and best practices.
Assist in translating business requirements into technical specifications for implementation.
Explore and evaluate new technologies and tools, providing recommendations for adoption.
Contribute to risk identification and mitigation efforts related to architecture.
Assist in creating and maintaining detailed architecture documentation.
Skills and Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic understanding of software development and system integration principles.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with general guidance.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.
Note: This internship is open to candidates residing anywhere in the Western United States, with a preference for California. Please be aware that the position may involve working in high-security areas subject to background checks.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers
Pay Range: $22 - $30 per hour depending on degree and student year level.

Basic RequirementsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with a graduation date in or after December 2025.
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
