Innovation Analyst, Principal

Job Description

Your Role

The Enterprise Strategy and Innovation team is responsible for providing thought leadership to business leaders across the enterprise to address problems and opportunities through designing end-to-end strategic frameworks to strengthen Blue Shield of California's ability to transform healthcare. The Innovation Analyst, Principal will serve as an architect of strategy by translating and distilling down the complexities across the enterprise into a logical strategy while partnering and influencing others along the way. This role will partner closely with stakeholders across the enterprise to design strategic roadmaps for business and executive leaders. The Innovation Analyst, Principal will report to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Strategy and Innovation.

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree (MBA, MPH, or MHA) preferred
  • Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience including with strategic planning, annual planning cycle, strategy deployment, and implementation of strategic plans
  • Requires experience in synthesizing and translating complex strategic concepts into simple and clear materials
  • Requires ability to distill key business issues and develop and implement effective action plans, with a proven track record of developing and implementing strategies
  • Requires experience navigating large and complex organizations, including gaining access to key executives and stakeholders and successfully managing relationships and processes within a highly matrixed environment
  • Experience in healthcare industry environment, health plan/insurance, healthcare provider, or management consulting strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of management consulting and client management, including executive meeting development and management, presentation production, inductive/deductive reasoning, client interviewing, issue analysis, data analysis, process design, change management, and distilling and communication of complex information
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environment with minimal details to shape end-to-end strategic plans
  • Excellent project management skills, Agile methodology experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of innovation frameworks strongly preferred

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 145970.00 to $ 218900.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
