This is a triage RN position for the Koman Outpatient Pavilion Orthopedic Surgery clinic (or other UCSD Orthopedic clinic locations as needed). Triage RN will work with the Ortho RN team, APP's and providers to triage and educate patients related to their questions, concerns and orthopedic plan of care. RN will be responsible for managing calls and messages in the in basket according to department guidelines, as well as maintaining regulatory compliance for items requiring licensed personnel. Recent direct ambulatory orthopedic triage and clinic experience is preferred. The RN needs to have strong clinical and communication skills to collaborate and coordinate care for patients with the multidisciplinary health care teams ensuring optimal care for patients. Teamwork, communication, initiative and accountability are essential to success of this RN triage role.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSGraduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Must have a minimum of three (3) years of active nursing experience.
Recent Ambulatory Orthopedic Clinic/Triage experience.
- BSN.
- OCN.
- ONS.
- ACLS and/or ART certification.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
