Job Description

The Gas Turbine CI (GTCI) Instructor will deliver specialized training on Gas Turbine Systems, including Electrical and Mechanical Subsystems, for DDG 1000 Class courses. This position requires expertise in shipboard engineering processes, instructional leadership, and technical proficiency to ensure high-quality learning outcomes for engineering personnel
Tests trainees to measure transfer of knowledge, skill and ability and to evaluate effectiveness of training. Provides remediation as needed.

* Develop and conduct training courses on Gas Turbine Systems, specifically Electrical and Mechanical Subsystems, for DDG 1000 platforms.
* Serve as an expert instructor for Engineering Watchstanding processes related to Cruisers and Destroyers.
* Guide and mentor other instructors in shipboard engineering processes, ensuring consistent instructional excellence.
* Research, analyze, and interpret technical specifications and tactical publications to translate complex information into clear, effective instructional materials.
* Operate and manipulate training systems to ensure accurate and effective presentation of learning objectives.
* Maintain and improve course content based on evolving training needs and feedback.

Job Requirements

* Twelve (12) years of relevant experience with general engineering systems and specific expertise in Gas Turbine Systems, including Electrical and Mechanical Subsystems.
* Four (4) years of experience as an acknowledged/recognized expert in Engineering Watchstanding, specifically related to Cruisers and Destroyers, with instructional experience and leadership in developing fellow instructors.
* Three (3) years of experience interpreting and applying technical specifications and tactical publications, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex technical content into effective training materials.
* Three (3) years of experience manipulating and utilizing training systems to ensure correct and engaging presentation of learning objectives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)

*Proven expertise in Gas Turbine Systems (Electrical and Mechanical). *Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities in an instructional setting. *Technical proficiency in interpreting engineering documentation and specifications. *Effective presentation and communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and instructional effectiveness. *Familiarity with advanced training systems and tools for simulation-based learning.
