About the Role:
As part of the In Vivo Biology team, this individual would be a key contributor in the development of novel therapeutics in the neurology and neurodegenerative space. The role would encompass primarily in vivo and some ex vivo analysis of novel drug targets and screening of potential therapeutic compounds (AAV, small molecules, antibodies and peptide compounds), study design, execution of procedures and data analysis in a team setting. The candidate is expected to independently design and perform studies while also working collaboratively with colleagues in multiple departments across the R&D organization to support the development of novel therapeutics. The role requires a breadth of laboratory experience across in vivo model systems from logistical consideration to study execution and analysis. Prior experience with transgenic mouse models and a deep understanding of animal behavior is highly desired._
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):Performs assigned experiments to support scientific activities and project goals
Recommends alternatives, researches new methods and techniques and may proactively seek out senior personnel to discuss potential solutions to problems
Work with stereotaxic surgical techniques and tissue dissection
Oversees dosing of small molecules, biologics and AAVs via multiple routes of administration
Responsible for behavioral assay development, validation, and screening
Proficiency with DNA, RNA, and protein analysis
Completes data analysis and reporting. Maintains and updates SOP's and writes data summaries for experiments conducted
Handles and doses animals in a laboratory setting
BS/BA degree in biological sciences preferably related to behavioral neuroscience, pharmacology or biopsychology neuroscience and some relevant industry experience OR
BS/BA degree in biological sciences preferably related to behavioral neuroscience, pharmacology or biopsychology neuroscience and some related experience
Collaborative and highly motivated
Working knowledge of automated liquid handling systems
Must be comfortable working with radioisotopes
Ability to keep accurate records
Working knowledge of Excel, GraphPad Prizm and Spotfire software helpful
Academic and/or working knowledge of molecular biology, cell culture and cell-based in vitro assays, development and optimization of in vitro biological assays
Working knowledge of LIMS systems
Able to execute experiments efficiently and suggest small process improvements
Able to recognize patterns or inconsistencies in data results
Can deduce meaningful results while conducting routine analyses or troubleshoot minor issues
Good knowledge of one scientific discipline
Developing knowledge of scientific principles, methods and techniques
Good knowledge and some experience working with discipline specific laboratory equipment/tools
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good computer skills, knowledge of Excel
Developing communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, planning and organization skills
Detail oriented
Understands importance of meeting deadlines

The hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay is $34.66-$48.98. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 15% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
