Kennel Technician (Dog Handling Experience Needed)

We are a non-profit sighthound adoption group and we are looking to hire a part-time kennel tech to help staff our kennel in Woodinville. Hours vary from about 9 to 15 hours per week.
You start out as a helper Kennel Tech and work 7:30/8 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and 3:30/4:00 to 7:30/8:00 in the evening.
We need someone who can work mostly evening shifts, but also a few morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Here is some basic information about the position. This position will be responsible for the general care of the dogs and cleanliness of the kennel and facility. You will also be responsible for helping to maintain accurate records of each animal including health, temperament, and well-being. You must provide superior customer service, and consistent humane handling of animals.
Minimum qualifications:
- Animal handling experience preferred.
- Experience with greyhounds preferred, but not required
- Must possess professionalism, courtesy, tact, and sound judgment.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work in both a team and self-directed environment.
- Able to properly handle, exercise and control large, and/or difficult dogs.
- Able to safely lift 50 pounds. Occasional lifting up to 75 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to work closely with animal dander/hair.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must have daily access to e-mail and a cell phone.
