Overview:

Join the HJF Team!

HJF is seeking a Research Associate II to perform research and program development in collaboration with other scientific, clinical and program staff. Join the team supporting groundbreaking research and a telehealth initiative on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and the impact on military health systems and public health initiatives. This role will conduct research and program design, implementation and evaluation activities within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment. The Research Associate will contribute to developing, analyzing, and disseminating findings to enhance FASD prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and policy strategies.

 


The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Research and Evaluation:
    • Develop protocol(s), tools (e.g. surveys, interview guides) and processes for program design and evaluation and research studies.
    • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    • Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, and policy analyses related to FASD screening, intervention, and care coordination.
    • Collaborate on manuscripts and presentations to disseminate findings.
    • Other research duties as assigned.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Coordinate with staff at health care facilities on program logistics, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
    • Liaise with federal agencies, health care professionals, and community organizations to enhance research impact.
    • Assist in planning workshops, webinars, and other knowledge-sharing events.
    • Share project findings through multimedia content, conference presentations and invited talks.
    • Coordinate information dissemination strategies to share research results effectively.
  • Program Administration:
    • Liaise with staff based at health care facilities in support of program setup, launch and ongoing management as needed. Maintain tracking of key dates and task performance to meet program objectives.
    • Maintain current training certificates and compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements.

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree preferred
    • Focus in Public Health Preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with publishing papers and/or writing manuscripts.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with program stakeholders.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust and CAC.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in a remote.
Compensation
  • The annual salary range for this position is $57,650-$90,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
