On Thursday June 20th the Adjunct Office will be hosting an Adjunct Job Fair from 4 to 7 PM in our Tech building. Please RSVP by June 17th with your name and contact information by email us at adjunctoffice@bergen.edu (see attached flyer for more details).
Education Department:
Students in the Education program take courses on topics related to the practical applications of major educational theories, how to professionally conduct classroom observations, evaluate student learning, explore research and evidence-based practices for teaching, how to develop engaging and instructional lesson plans. Education students also have the opportunity to demonstrate lessons to students in field classrooms. Additionally, students are introduced to topics related to: foundations and history of the education system, the organization and structure of the school system, the integration of technology in education, teaching exceptional and diverse students, and concepts related to multicultural education.
Courses and Requirements:
Early Childhood Education Concentration – College Level
Required: Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. At least one year of college-level teaching experience is preferred and a minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Preschool-3rd grade classroom teacher.
Education Concentration – College Level
Required: Master’s degree in an area of Teacher Education. At least one year of college-level teaching experience is preferred and a minimum of 3 years of experience working in Preschool- 3rd grade; Kindergarten-6th grade; or Middle/High School grades.
